All our training concentrates on building bridges back into society.  Each young person helps to design the project they are attending, so we find that we are continuously adapting our training to meet their changing needs.

Exceeding Expectations

Imagine an environment where you are frightened of your peers.  This 12 week course focuses on developing interpersonal skills and building self-confidence.  It is specifically designed for 14 - 16 year olds who have been excluded by the system typically because they have self-excluded from local schools for so long as a result of violence from peers in the school yard or just outside the gates.

Exceeding Expectations runs for 5 half days each week during which the young people are coached in confidence building skills and other techniques that will improve their ability to cope and move on.  The project helps the young people to believe in their abilities and to overcome the barriers that stops them from progressing within the local community and in any learning situation.  A firm favourite on the agenda is the weekly team building exercise during which the young people plan and cost a group outing in which they all participate.
