All our training concentrates on building bridges back into society.  Each young person helps to design the project they are attending, so we find that we are continuously adapting our training to meet their changing needs.

FASTtrack

The young people Skilltrain works with feel unable to enter a group learning environment, largely because of the violence they have suffered at the hands of other young people.  This makes it impossible for them to attend school, college, sporting activities or to even travel independently.  Many become agoraphobic as a result of their deep social exclusion which compounds the problem further. 

Fasttrack is a very special programme where young people can take personal responsibility for their achievements and rediscover their interpersonal skills. The project provides 1:1 personal coaching to help individuals overcome behavioural challenges and re-engage with formal education, training or find themselves a job.  Each participant determines a series of project goals with their coach that will enable them to conquer their fear of others and of failure, and help to build up their self-esteem. They start to believe in their abilities and become more motivated to learn within groups again. This is the first step on their journey to an independent future.
