Skilltrain’s vision is to open the doors to learning and self esteem to every young person in South London who has suffered violence or extreme abuse at the hands of peers or who is experiencing any form of deep social exclusion. 
 
We want EVERY young person locally to be able to identify and believe in their personal strengths, to understand and appreciate their actual potential and to feel genuinely valued by themselves, local industry and the wider community.     

We achieve this vision by:

• Providing flexible, innovative support without cost to the individual or family
• Recognising that for some youngsters the risk of meeting other young people can be one of the greatest barriers to progression
• Through specialising in redressing some of the more extreme barriers (whether social or cultural) that stop young people from being able access learning.
• Using 1:1 and small group activities to teach participants how to view themselves and others positively so that they can manage their strengths and behaviour to plan and achieve their personal & career goals.
