Our goal is to give these damaged and forgotten young people the ability and interpersonal skills to re-engage with the community, plan their futures and realise their potential to succeed. 

We are unique because:

• We passionately believe that each child is different, so, unusually, we work on a 1:1 basis or, occasionally, in small groups and all projects are designed by the young people who use them.   This approach greatly reduces their fear of the unknown, increases their sense of personal responsibility and helps them to really see the progress they are making. It also acts as a catalyst for the next stage in their integration into learning with other young people

• Our coaches are mainly specialists in performing arts who understand first hand how to build their own images and raise their levels of self esteem even when they are at their lowest.  They share these techniques with the young people as well as general life skills, developing confidence, personal promotion, how to work as part of a team and the motivation to progress into further learning 

• Our coaching takes place at a location where the young person will be able to feel at ease and where they will not encounter other young people unless they want to

• 85% of the young people who complete the Skilltrain experience return either to mainstream education or get a job having learned social skills that enable them to actively participate in school and life in general.  We are often recommended by past clients who have directly benefited from the Skilltrain experience – a true accolade
